Communication strategies and relations management
Overview
The events recently occurred in
the Med region, highlight the necessity of
understanding the new geopolitical scenario which
influences decision making process and creates a new
cross country balance.
Within this scenario, many key
sectors and industries, both private and public,
need to focus on the complex relational system on
which all decisions and projects are invisibly
standing, contributing to economic, institutional
and social change.
The socio-economic development of
the Euro-Med region is also linked to the energy
industry’s balance and its further sustainable
development, therefore enabling to enhance/
expanding its economic importance in the Euro-Med
scenario and, as a consequence, its competitiveness
in the global scenario.
Focus
MedCom 2011 aims at analyzing the
relationship between energy industry and the
strategic management of its relations, triggering
discussion and best practice sharing thanks to the
participation of professionals and experts in Public
relations and institutional Relations, as well as
key figures of the leading energy groups and
institutional bodies operating in the Euro -Med.
Company policies and actions undertaken by the
energy industry, from traditional to renewable
sources, are perceived differently depending on
whether the stakeholders are local communities,
local o central governments, shareholders, the
financial system, etc.. Managerial decision making
process inevitably influences and has direct and
indirect effects on each of the stakeholders
mentioned, therefore it is necessary to manage
specific public relations and communication programs
in order to carry out all relational duties and
competences in the short, medium and long
term.Furthermore, the European Union "Intelligent
Energy" Program promotes and spreads the culture of
energy saving and promoting alternative energy.
How public relations programs can help in creating
awareness on “Intelligent Energy” behavior in the
Med. Area.
